Minneapolis cat tour started as joke, now draws
hundreds of admirers. “I love to do weird, goofy
things like this,” said John Edwards, who
organizes the yearly event. The Washington Post

When the cats come out to play,
We hold a purr-fect holiday,
With cat T-shirts and catnip gear
To honor felines we hold dear:

Tortoiseshells and Balinese,
American bobtails and Burmese,
While no one ventures to sing scat,
Or make a catty comment that
Might hurt some Felis catus pride,
With canine preference implied.

Touring in their cat revues,
Then disappear into their mews.
