Meg Barton’s first poem was published in the Manchester Evening News when she was 12 – under the pseudonym ‘James Eliot’ – which caused some problems with cashing the resulting postal order. There was then a rather long gap, and she went back to writing poetry in 2012 – and is now enjoying making up for lost time.
